The EMPRESS OF ASIA embarked 2200 troops at Bombay and sailed for Singapore on January 23rd1942. On February 5th 1942, while approaching Singapore, the EMPRESS OF ASIA sustained an aerial bombardment that ignited fires and forced the abandonment of the ship. The following names are military personnel who were being transported and who lost their lives from injuries sustained during the loss of the EMPRESS OF ASIA.
